Product Technologies

  • Wheelset Hubs

The hub uses Up-Vine’s patented design: 18 spokes for the front rim brake wheel, 21 spokes for the rear (2:1); 21 spokes for the front disc brake wheel (2:1), and 24 spokes for the rear (2:1). The ratchet engagement angle is 6 degrees, enhancing pedalling response. The optimised flange geometry effectively balances the spoke tension on both sides of the wheelset, improving torsional and lateral rigidity.

  • Wheelset Spokes

Bladed spokes and domestically produced carbon fiber spokes are used. While reducing weight, they also provide better aerodynamic efficiency, making riding faster and more stable. The steel spokes have a 2.2mm reinforcement treatment at the hub connection end, making the fit between the spokes and the hub tighter and more reliable.

  • Wheelset Rims

Disc brake 40mm rims: external width 28mm, internal width 21mm.Disc brake 50mm rims: external width 30.5mm, internal width 21mm.Disc brake 60mm rims: external width 31mm, internal width 23mm.The steel spoke rims do not have spoke assembly holes and natively support tubeless systems without the need for rim tape. They use a hybrid arrangement of Toray T700 and T800 carbon, combined with epoxy resin optimised for disc brakes, reducing weight while ensuring rim rigidity and strength. The angles of the rim spoke holes are precisely matched with the angles of the hub flanges, minimising spoke stress and increasing the stability of the wheelset.

  • Wheelset Assembly

All of Up-Vine's wheelsets are meticulously hand-assembled. The spoke tension ratio on both sides is 1:1, with the tension difference on one side kept within 15kgf. Each wheelset comes with a corresponding tension chart, accurately recording the data for each spoke. The factory standard for wheelset calibration precision is lateral deviation within 0.15mm and vertical runout within 0.15mm.
